Parasites & Dogs |
Parasites & Dogs - Parasite infections can be either internal or external; and are a general problem with all animals. Dogs are no exception, no matter how clean they are kept. Dogs can pick up parasites very easily from other dogs, other animals, or just by walking through long grass. The effects of an unwanted parasitic infection can be very debilitating, and dog owners should keep a close watch on their dog for any changes in behaviour which may indicate such an infection. This section describes the some of the more common parasitic infections that can affect dogs including ear mites, fleas, mange, mites, ringworm, tapeworm, ticks and roundworm.
