Heart Problems in Dogs - The heart is one of the major organs of all animals. It is a highly effective "pump" and works in a similar manner whatever the animal, there are also many common heart conditions.

Heart conditions are very common in dogs and they can lead to heart failure and death unless the cause of the problem is quickly identified and then treated.

This section on heart conditions describes the some of the more common canine health problems, conditions and diseases that can affect a dogs heart including anaemia, cardiomyopathy, heart disease, mitral insufficiency, restarting a dogs heart following a heart attack, and thrombosis.
